Nambe - 2018

Post by Joeytwist1 »

Going to start scouting this area more as the snow starts to come down on it.

Made a tour to look into the bowl on 2/18

Not much cover, around 30-35cm in areas with rocks 2-5cm under the surface.. very wind blown and stripped.

Ill update this as soon as I can catch another tour out there.

Thanks for the report! I've been wondering how this area has been filling in. Looks like we're 2' away from being able to ride some lines. sound about right?

Hey Brown_trout.. To be honest this is my first season with the proper gear to get back there.. I would love to have someone that has had experience back ther to comment on Nambe. I just plan to continue to observe the snow pack and keep my fingers crossed that we get enough snow to make some turns back there.. Safely of corse. 8)

Honestly, I've haven't seen a season this dry in 24 years. If had to bet, I would bet against this becoming ridable this year. I hope I'm worng

The 2005-2006 season was worse. Todays date in 2006 at the Santa Fe Snotel site had a snow depth of 3 inches and total precipitation of 4.9 inches, compared to todays Snotel data of 18 inch snow depth and 6.6 inches of precipitation.
Go when the going is good.
