After the ski cut, the camera cuts and it sounded like there was a loud bang when the snow failed. Is that just the sound it makes? Or were they using explosives of some sort after the ski cut produced no results?

Avalanches are capable of making a variety of sounds. Im not sure what caused that pop, but it was not an explosive.
