What a great run that is!

Avalanches are capable of making a variety of sounds. Im not sure what caused that pop, but it was not an explosive.

I want to do it one of these days. But not sunday. I will probably be skiing or catching up on work due to skiing. I am also thinking that it is not the best idea to practice with beacons (not attached to humans) in avalanche terrain or underneath it, especially after or during this up coming storm....

Lake Peak is not at all easy, or not at all safe feeling on the summit ridge right now. Not recommended until we receive more snow. Unless you have a belay.

Just wanted to say both skis were recovered thanks to some friendly folks as well as some of my own horse power. I found one of them in the chutes right were I thought it would be, and I even picked up some trash too. Thanks again and keep thinking about the snow for next year.
