Chicoma conquered!

Postby scotthsu » Wed Apr 22, 2009 2:21 pm

Skied the SE face of Chicoma Mountain yesterday. It was perfect soft corn snow around 9am. Will post again later with a link to a TR.

thanks, kerry. i'm definitely going to be much more suspicious of snow-covered roads from now on!

Great TR Scott! I've been looking at the peak for years now, wondering if it ever got skied.

But the car extraction part sounds epic. I have to admit that I laughed a little, but only after it was clear that you survived. BTDT

Very nice Scott. Mark Zander told stories about skiing it years ago and I've been wanting to try it.

thanks guys. yes, it's definitely much funnier in hindsight. it's actually a pretty mellow tour & ski; just make sure you avoid the road epic. jason halladay & bill geist did winter snowboard descents back in 2005; there's a link to their TR from mine.

Nice Scott!

I look at that slope every day and wondered if anyone was hitting it after these spring storms.
