nambé 5/11

Postby Bob » Tue May 13, 2008 8:10 pm

I went up to check out the Nambé chutes on Sunday 5/11 and things were in pretty good shape. Got some nice corn turns in the main chute around 12:30 pm.

Timing the sun and temps are going to be the key to good runs there over the next weeks. Cloudy cold weather will bring boilerplate, but sunny clear weather should corn it up nicely if you get there at the right time.

The sun-hit ski area runs like Gayway and Sunset were hammered/ugly. On the way out I got my best turns in the upper mountain shady areas like Big Rocks and Tequila Sunrise. The lower mountain is pretty much just connect-the-dots survival skiing.
