Tessa's Ascension

Postby Bob » Thu Mar 20, 2008 8:20 pm

Here's a reminder that the patrol at Ski Santa Fe will be hosting Tessa's Ascension, a randoneé/telemark/snowshoe-snowboard race up through the Santa Fe ski area to the top of the quad lift, then down though a GS race course. The event will be held Saturday, March 22, beginning at 5 PM.

The race is held in memory of Tessa Horan, a ski patroller and Peace Corps volunteer who was tragically lost in Tonga during her Peace Corps mission.

"Proceeds from this year's event will go towards the establishment and promotion of an organic community garden that will provide a safe place for parents and children to raise healthy food for themselves and local charitable organizations."

It's a fun event, and an opportunity for norteños to test themselves in an organized skinning/riding event. Sign up early to avoid the rush (and the threat of a late registration penalty). A party and prize awards follow the race.

Someone needs to come and beat rich who ran away with first last year. I don't think it's gonna be me, but I'll try.

See you there.

Someone needs to call up the ringer livin' in the Jemez. Although I haven't heard/seen anything from her in over a year.

I haven't heard anything from Petra either. She may be deep into that motherhood thing. She'd make us all cry like little girls.
