Sangre De Cristo Backcountry

Postby LTskis » Sun Nov 06, 2016 10:06 pm

I was cleaning out files to make room for new footage this winter and found a fun video that never got uploaded to YouTube. It is now uploaded.

We stayed inbounds (no point in going out to the BC) yesterday and skinned up to the top of the triple. There was just enough snow to ride from there down to Totemoffs. Like, just barely. My phone kept dying, so I only got two pictures. Also, I strongly dislike La Nina.

I hear it may be cold enough this coming week for the crews to make snow at Santa Fe. And wunderground is calling for a 'chance' of snow early next week (mon-wed). Maybe the La Nina predictions will be wrong. I really hope so.

La Nina is happening, it's not a prediction anymore. Since this time last year NOAA's long range forecast has been indicating dry and warm conditions are likely for the southwest this Winter. Looks like that will happen. We've had four decent water years in a row so we're due for a dry one. Keep your bikes tuned!
