Beverly Mountain Guides Avi Courses for 2017

Postby Marc » Wed Mar 01, 2017 9:59 pm

Beverly Mountain Guides is offering the full gamut once again, at Taos Ski Valley. Although the season is in full swing, there's still time to get your avi course in. Whether you're taking your first course, or on the way to becoming a IFMGA Mountain Guide, our courses are geared towards the highest standards in the industry. Marc is the Avalanche Delegate for the USA International Commission of Alpine Rescue (ICAR) Avalanche Commission, and is on the Executive Board of the UIAA. Get the absolute most up to date information in these courses. Kerry Hanes has more days as an avalanche instructor than any other guide in the state this year, and is coaching his son (Henry) in the World Cup SkiMo racing in Europe in late February. Support some of the best, and most established local avalanche instructors in New Mexico. Classes are filling fast.

"I never put up an avalanche course poster with an avalanche on it. Why? It's because it's not what you see before the problems really start. We need to make good decisions in avalanche terrain. How? Mentorship, time in the pilot seat, and experience." J. Marc Beverly

"Funny, how a 6-degree slope on Gold Hill suddenly collapsed. We were in awe...and learned why going further would have been the wrong choice," Robert Torres.

If you missed this season's opportunities, and you want a really great experience, come with us to South America in August/Sept 2017 for an AIARE avi 1 course!!!

Here's the latest in in Avalanche and Non-Avalanche Burial Accidents.

This is a good primer for discussion for the cutting edge in Avi Education. See you out there !
