This paper has been making the rounds in some forums and other circles, and I thought it was interesting:
http://www.henrysavalanchetalk.com/2009_Transceiver_Test.pdf

It seems to indicate that three-antennae beacons are better than even thoroughly-practiced people using the (single-antennae) Ortovox F1s, which are favored by some 'core' ski patrols. And in the hands of experienced users, three-antennae beacons aren't that much faster than two-antennae beacons.

It probably isn't the most thorough study ever, but it's food for thought if you've been thinking about buying or upgrading a beacon, or if you've been hoarding your old single-antenna one.
